In the Yellow Birch and Whitebeam pictures you see two methods of the mechanical prevention; on the other photo i have been cutting down Scots Pines (Pinus sylvestris) and on the other i have been carved the bark away around the trunks, so that Norway Spruces (Picea abies) in question have been killed standing.
