Comparando los resultados de esta investigación con los obtenidos en estudios anteriores (años 1985 al 1995) pudo comprobarse que en algunos de los acuatorios hubo pérdida de especies y/o estaban en baja densidad, siendo Gambusia punticulata Poey, 1854 la más perjudicada, estas afectaciones a la ictiofauna se pudo corroborar por medio del análisis del contenido estomacal realizado a los peces advenidizos, reafirmándose que estos entran en competencia con los nativos.
