Penalty (3) Without such leave, a Senator, officer, clerk or servant of the Senate shall not, on any account, under penalty of being committed to the Usher of the Black Rod or to prison during the pleasure of the Senate, go down to the House of Commons, or send an answer in writing or appear by counsel to answer any accusation there.

Idem (3) Sans cette permission, un sénateur, un haut fonctionnaire, un greffier ou un employé du Sénat ne doit en aucun cas se rendre à la Chambre des communes ni lui envoyer de réponse par écrit, ni s'y faire représenter par un avocat pour se défendre d'une accusation, sous peine d'être confié à la garde de l'huissier du Bâton noir, ou d'être emprisonné le temps qu'il plaira au Sénat.
