Nueva Loja, April 21, 2006 - During the April 5 judicial inspection of the Guanta 7 well site, Dr. Eduardo Bedoya, Bolivian anthropology expert on indigenous affairs in Latin America, presented the Superior Court of Nueva Loja with the results of demographic studies which show that the Cofán indigenous population has not decreased in the past thirty years, thus disproving the claims made by the plaintiff's lawyers allegations in the lawsuit filed against Chevron.

Nueva Loja, 21 abril, 2006 - Durante la inspección judicial a Guanta 7 realizada el pasado 5 de abril, el Dr. Eduardo Bedoya, antropólogo boliviano experto en temas indígenas latinoamericanos, presentó a la Corte Superior de Nueva Loja los resultados de estudios demográficos, que prueban que el pueblo Cofán no ha disminuido en los últimos treinta años, contrariamente a lo sostenido por las acusaciones de los abogados de los demandantes en el juicio entablado a Chevron.
