Since 2012, the Commission has focused more extensively on the senior group (Calypso+), with the initiative ‘Europe, the best destination for seniors’, to set up coordination mechanisms to increase low/medium seasons flows for senior tourists within Europe and from third countries(4), pushing for the solidarity dimension to be part of cooperation between Member States.

Desde 2012, la Comisión se ha centrado especialmente en el grupo de personas mayores (Calypso+) a través de la iniciativa «Europa, el mejor destino para las personas mayores» para crear mecanismos de coordinación que permitan incrementar, durante las temporadas baja/media, el flujo de turistas mayores europeos y de terceros países(4). Para ello, se promueve la inclusión de la dimensión solidaria en materia de cooperación entre los Estados miembros.
