Major tasks of the unit included providing assistance to the Office of Programme Planning, Budget and Accounts of the United Nations Secretariat for the preparation of the budgetary implications resulting from Economic and Social Council resolution 2001/40 and General Assembly resolution 56/125 regarding the Institute’s operational viability beyond the year 2001.
