The event was designed to create a space for in-depth, structured interaction among participants from all SUN countries and their networks of supporters. The 250 participants came from governments, civil society groups, donor agencies, business enterprises, the United Nations and the scientific community. The gathering was an interactive workshop with two half day meetings in plenary and two half days of parallel sessions focusing on specific challenges previously identified by the country participants. The SUN Lead Group held its fourth meeting at the same time as the Global Gathering to provide guidance on the progress of the Movement, establish convergence with the Thousand Days’ partnership and the Nutrition for Growth (N4G) compact and participate in the opening of the Global Gathering.

Les 250 participants venaient de gouvernements, des groupes de la société civile, des agences donatrices, du secteur privé, des Nations Unies et de la communauté scientifique. Ce rassemblement était un atelier interactif de deux réunions d’une demi-journée en séance plénière et deux demi-journées de séances parallèles consacrées aux enjeux spécifiques déjà identifiés par les participants des pays. Le Groupe principal du SUN a tenu sa quatrième réunion en même temps que l’Assemblée mondiale pour fournir des indications sur l’état d’avancement du Mouvement, établir une convergence avec le partenariat Thousand Days (partenariat des mille jours) et Nutrition pour la santé) (N4G) et participer à l’ouverture de l’Assemblée mondiale.
