4 And the Gibeonites said unto him, We will have no silver nor gold of Saul, nor of his house; neither for us shalt thou kill any man in Israel. And he said, What ye shall say, that will I do for you. 5 And they answered the king, The man that consumed us, and that devised against us that we should be destroyed from remaining in any of the coasts of Israel, 6 Let seven men of his sons be delivered unto us, and we will hang them up unto the LORD in Gibeah of Saul, whom the LORD did choose.

내가 어떻게 속죄하여야 너희가 여호와의 기업을 위하여 복을 빌겠느냐 4 기브온 사람이 대답하되, 사울과 그 집과 우리 사이의 일은 은 금에 있지 아니하오나 이스라엘 가운데서 사람을 죽이는 일은 우리에게 있지 아니 왕이 가로되, 너희의 말하는 대로 시행하리라 5 저희가 왕께 고하되, 우리를 학살하였고 또 우리를 멸하여 이스라엘 경내에 머물지 못하게 하려고 모해한 사람의 6 자손 일곱을 내어 주소서.
