The compounds obtained in sufficient amount were evaluated as gastroprotective agents in the ethanol-hydrochloric acid induced gastric ulcer model in mice. The cytotoxicity of all new compounds was assessed in three different human cell lines. The results showed that the new amides presented a high gastroprotective effect, that could be related with the configuration of the C-18 carboxylic acid, which differs from other labdanes previously investigated as well as the double bond in the side chain.

Los compuestos obtenidos en cantidad suficiente fueron evaluados como gastroprotectores en el modelo de las lesiones gástricas inducida por etanol-ácido clorhídrico en ratones y se determinó la citotoxicidad de todos los nuevos productos en tres líneas celulares humanas.Los resultados indican que las nuevas amidas mostraron el mejor efecto gastroprotector descrito hasta la fecha para ese tipo de compuestos, lo que podría estar relacionado con la configuración del ácido carboxílico en C-18, que difiere de otros labdanos.
