"ঘুগনি পূর্ব ভারতে ( আসাম, বাংলা, বিহার, ওড়িশা ) সন্ধ্যাকালীন নাস্তা হিসাবে খাওয়া হয়। ঐতিহ্যবাহীপূর্ব ভারতীয় রন্ধনপ্রণালীতে মাষকলাই (কলা ছানা ), শুকনো হলুদ মটর বা শুকনো সাদা মটর গ্রেভি দিয়ে রান্না করা হয়। এরপরে এটি কুড়মুড়ে মুড়ি এবং মাঝে গরম পেঁয়াজ পাকোড়া বা ভাজিয়ার সাথে পরিবেশন করা হয়। এটি পুরির সাথেও পরিবেশন করা হয়। কিছু রকমে মাংস অন্তর্ভুক্ত থাকে যেমন মেষশাবক বা মুরগির সাংসের ছোট ছোট টুকরা যোগ করা হয়। এটি কলকাতার একটি সাধারণ এবং সাশ্রয়ী মূল্যের খাবার। মাংসের ঘুঘনিকে ""কলকাতা ট্রেডমার্ক"" হিসাবে পরিচিতি পেয়েছে।"

"Ghugni is an evening snack in Eastern India (Assam, Bengal, Bihar, Odisha). Black gram (kala chana), dried yellow peas, or dried white peas are cooked with gravy in the traditional eastern Indian style. It is then served with puffed rice (kurmura) and at times with hot onion pakoda or bhajiya. It is also served with poori. Some versions include meat, such as lamb or even chicken. It is a common and affordable food in Kolkata. Mangsher ghugni has been described as a ""Kolkata trademark""."
