Ein Süßwassersee, der das Meer küßt, an dem der Reis seit unzählbarer Zeit kultiviert und angebaut wird und aufgrund dessen er der Ursprungsort des wohl bekanntesten Gericht Spaniens in der Welt ist: der Paella Valenciana. Daneben kann man dort wohl die schönsten Sonnenuntergänge überhaupt sehen, die auf zahlreichen Postkartenmotiven zu finden sind.
