Due largely to expansion in coverage of the network, on 11 November 1999, the responsibility for the Sistema de Radio y Televisión Mexiquense was moved away from the Secretariat of Education, Culture and Social Welfare to become the direct responsibility of the Government of the State of Mexico.

Debido principalmente al crecimiento y alcance que la señal llega a tener, es que el 11 de noviembre de 1999, el Sistema de Radio y Televisión Mexiquense deja de depender de la Secretaría de Educación, Cultura y Bienestar Social, para pasar a ser responsabilidad directa del Gobierno del estado de México.
