وسلَّم الفريق العامل المعني بالتطبيقات البحرية للتكنولوجيات الفضائية بأنَّ التكنولوجيات والمعلومات والخدمات الفضائية مفيدة للغاية في مجالات من قبيل فهم بيئة المحيطات وتفاعل المحيطات مع اليابسة والجوِّ، ومن أجل رصد حركة السفن في البحار وأحوال الجليد عند خطوط العرض الشمالية ومراقبة صيد الأسماك غير المشروع ومكافحة القرصنة البحرية.

The working group on the maritime applications of space technologies recognized that space-related technologies, information and services were extremely useful in areas such as understanding the ocean environment and the interaction of oceans with land and the atmosphere, for monitoring sea traffic and ice conditions at northern latitudes, controlling illegal fishing and fighting sea piracy.

El grupo de trabajo sobre las aplicaciones marítimas de la tecnología espacial reconoció que las tecnologías, la información y los servicios espaciales eran sumamente útiles en esferas como el conocimiento del medio oceánico y la interacción de los océanos con la tierra firme o la atmósfera, de cara a vigilar el tráfico marítimo, el estado del hielo en latitudes septentrionales, controlar la pesca ilegal y combatir la piratería marítima.

Le groupe de travail sur les applications maritimes des techniques spatiales a reconnu que les techniques, les informations et les services spatiaux étaient extrêmement utiles dans des domaines tels que la compréhension de l’environnement océanique et de l’interaction des océans avec les terres et l’atmosphère, la surveillance du trafic maritime et de l’état des glaces aux latitudes septentrionales, le contrôle de la pêche illégale et la lutte contre la piraterie en mer.
