وتوصي اللجنة الفرعية بأن يزود كل محتجز محبوس في مرافق سجنية تابعة لمراكز الشرطة أو في مراكز الاحتجاز التابعة للشرطة بما يلزم للنوم في ظل ظروف ملائمة بما يتفق مع الشروط الصحية مع إيلاء الاعتبار الواجب للشروط المناخية وخاصة للمحتوى المكعب من الهواء المتاح في الغرفة والحيز الأرضي الأدنى، والتضوئة والتهوئة فضلاً عن حاشية ينام عليها وشروط الإصحاح والأغذية المناسبة والماء الصالح للشراب

The SPT recommends that every detainee held in the custodial facilities of police stations or in police detention centres should be provided with sleeping accommodation meeting all requirements for health, due regard being paid to climatic conditions and particularly to cubic content of air, minimum floor space, lightning, heating and ventilation, as well as a mattress to sleep on and access to sanitation, food and drinking water

El Subcomité recomienda que todo detenido que se encuentre en los calabozos de las comisarías o en los centros de detención de la policía tenga un lugar para dormir que reúna las debidas condiciones de higiene, teniendo en cuenta el clima y, en particular, el contenido cúbico de aire, una superficie mínima, iluminación, calefacción y ventilación, así como una colchoneta para dormir, acceso a servicios de saneamiento, alimentos y agua potable
