I thank the voters of Whitby–Oshawa for still electing me despite the fact I wasn’t there, particularly toward the end of the campaign, when the international credit crunch and dramatic swings in global markets made it imperative that we work together internationally and coordinate our efforts.

Je remercie sincèrement les électeurs de Whitby–Oshawa de m’avoir réélu même si je n’ai pas été aussi présent que je l’aurais voulu, surtout vers la fin de la campagne, car il s’imposait alors que les gouvernements travaillent de concert et coordonnent leurs efforts à l’échelle internationale, en raison de la crise du crédit et des soubresauts des marchés mondiaux.
