Luego del hallazgo de C. neoformans en el contenido gástrico y del resultado positivo de la antigenemia, el paciente -sospechado inicialmente como portador de diarrea por Cryptosporidium sp.-, fue medicado con fluconazol por vía oral, a razón de 800 mg/día, tras negarse a recibir medicación endovenosa.
