Jeg tror, at vi i dag er fuldt bevidste om den afgørende betydning heraf, og jeg appellerer derfor til, at forsamlingen vedtager ændringsforslag 5 til artikel 2 i det oprindelige beslutningsforslag, og at Kommissionen og Rådet tager hensyn hertil, så det aktuelle forslag bringes i samklang med dem, der skal følge om bekæmpelse af terrorisme m.v., således som hr. kommissær António Vitorino redegjorde for det i går.

Wir sind uns wohl heute über ihre Bedeutung als Instrument völlig im Klaren, und deshalb ich rufe dazu auf, dass dieses Plenum den Änderungsantrag Nr. 5 zu Artikel 2 des ursprünglichen Beschlussentwurfs annimmt, dass die Kommission und der Rat ihn berücksichtigt und den derzeitigen Beschlussentwurf an andere, die ihm folgen werden - natürlich im Bereich des Kampfes gegen den Terrorismus -, wie von Herrn Kommissar António Vitorino hier gestern angekündigt, anpasst.

I think that we are now perfectly aware of the vital importance of this, and I therefore call on this Chamber to adopt Amendment No 5 on Article 2 of the original proposal for a decision, and ask the Commission and the Council to take this on board. This will bring the proposal for a decision before us in line with others which will soon follow in relation to the war on terrorism, as announced yesterday by Commissioner Vitorino.

Creo que hoy estamos perfectamente avisados sobre su importancia instrumental y por eso mismo pido que este Pleno apruebe la enmienda no 5, relativa al artículo 2 de la propuesta original de decisión, y que la Comisión y el Consejo la tengan en cuenta, poniendo la actual propuesta de decisión en consonancia con otras que seguirán, sin lugar a dudas, en materia de lucha contra el terrorismo, como ayer anunció aquí el Comisario António Vitorino.

Je pense que nous sommes aujourd' hui parfaitement sensibilisés à son importance instrumentale, c' est pourquoi j' en appelle à l' adoption en plénière de l' amendement 5 relatif à l' article 2 de la proposition originelle de décision et à sa prise en compte par la Commission et le Conseil, en rendant la proposition actuelle de décision cohérente avec celles qui viendront après elle, tout d' abord en matière de lutte contre le terrorisme, ainsi que M. le commissaire António Vitorino l' a annoncé ici même, hier.

Penso estarmos hoje perfeitamente alertados para a sua importância instrumental, e por isso mesmo apelo a que a alteração no 5 relativa ao artigo 2o da proposta original de decisão seja aprovada por este plenário e que seja tomada em conta pela Comissão e pelo Conselho, pondo em coerência a actual proposta de decisão com outras que se lhe seguirão, desde logo em matéria de luta contra o terrorismo, como ontem aqui anunciou o senhor Comissário António Vitorino.

Jag tror att vi nu är mycket medvetna om dess betydelse som ett medel, och därför vädjar jag om att ändringsförslag 5 rörande artikel 2 i det ursprungliga förslaget till beslut skall godkännas av parlamentet och att kommissionen och rådet skall ta hänsyn det och se till att det nuvarande förslaget till beslut följer de andra som naturligtvis kommer att följa därefter i kampen mot terrorismen, som kommissionär António Vitorino tillkännagav här igår.
