In a letter headed ‘Arrangements on TTIP negotiating documents’ sent on 5 July 2013 by Ignacio García Bercero to Daniel Mullany — the two being respectively the chief EU and US negotiators on the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) Agreement — Mr García Bercero assures his US counterpart that the TTIP negotiations will not be subject to the provisions of Regulation (EC) No 1049/2001 giving members of the public and legal entities the right to apply for access to documents in the possession of the EU institutions or which have been sent or received by them over a period of at least 30 years.

En una carta titulada «Arrangements on TTIP negotiating documents» enviada el 5 de julio de 2013 por Ignacio García Bercero a Daniel Mullany, negociadores de la «Asociación Transatlántica para el Comercio y la Inversión» por parte de la Unión Europea y los EE.UU. respectivamente, el señor García Bercero asegura a su homólogo estadounidense que las negociaciones del TTIP no se van a regir por el reglamento (CE) n° 1049/2001, que permite al público y entidades legales el derecho a solicitar documentos poseídos, transmitidos o recibidos por instituciones de la UE, durante al menos 30 años.
