Should the Commission receive new information indicating that there are signs that the protection of the Saimaa Ringed Seal is decreasing or that the threats to the population have increased in other ways without appropriate reaction from the authorities, the Commission can again take measures in accordance with the Treaty to ensure that Finland complies with the requirements under EC law.

Mikäli komissio saa uusia tietoja, joiden mukaan saimaannorpan suojelu heikentyy tai kantaan kohdistuvat uhkat ovat muutoin lisääntyneet eivätkä viranomaiset ole reagoineet asianmukaisesti, komissio voi uudelleen toteuttaa perussopimuksen mukaisia toimenpiteitä sen varmistamiseksi, että Suomi noudattaa EU:n lainsäädännön mukaisia vaatimuksia.
