يؤكد من جديد أحكام المادة 16 من البروتوكول المتعلق بإنشاء مجلس السلم والأمن التابع للاتحاد الأفريقي التي تتناول العلاقة بين الاتحاد الأفريقي والآليات الإقليمية لمنع نشوب النزاعات وإدارتها وتسويتها، التي شكل جزءا من البنية الأمنية العامة للاتحاد، وكذلك ما ورد في مذكرة التفاهم المؤرخة كانون الثاني/يناير 2008 بشأن التعاون في مجال السلم والأمن، التي أُبرمت بين الاتحاد والآليات الإقليمية عملا بالمادة 16 من بروتوكول مجلس السلم والأمن.

Reaffirms the provisions of article 16 of the Protocol relating to the Establishment of the Peace and Security Council of the African Union on the relationship between the African Union and the regional mechanisms for conflict prevention, management and resolution, which are part of the overall security architecture of the Union, as well as the Memorandum of Understanding of January 2008 on cooperation between the African Union and the regional mechanisms in the area of peace and security, concluded in pursuance of article 16 of the Peace and Security Council Protocol.

Reafirma las disposiciones del artículo 16 del Protocolo relativo al establecimiento del Consejo de Paz y Seguridad de la Unión Africana sobre la relación entre la Unión Africana y los mecanismos regionales de prevención, gestión y resolución de conflictos, que forman parte de la estructura de seguridad general de la Unión, así como del memorando de entendimiento de enero de 2008 sobre la cooperación entre la Unión Africana y los mecanismos regionales en el ámbito de la paz y la seguridad, concluido en virtud del artículo 16 del Protocolo del Consejo de Paz y Seguridad.
