After manufacture of the EL display panel, in each of the pixels (5), a lighting-time anode voltage and cathode voltage are of a potential difference that serves as a reverse bias voltage, and there is implemented a testing step for applying the reverse bias voltage, for which the magnitude has been set in advance for every pixel (5) of the RGB colors.
