Im Laufe unserer Unterhaltung sagte ich lächelnd zu ihnen: "Was meinen Sie, wie die weibliche afrikanische, frankophone Landbevölkerung reagieren würde, wenn man ihr die Beweggründe darlegen würde, die die Frauen dazu mobilisieren sollen, ihre Bestrebungen oder Rechte geltend zu machen, wie Schulbildung für junge Mädchen, Zugang zu mittleren und höheren Studiengängen für Studentinnen, Möglichkeit der Ausübung des Handwerks oder Berufs ihrer Wahl, Stärkung ihrer Rolle und ihrer Rechte innerhalb der Familie, Zugang zum aktiven und passiven Wahlrecht usw., und diese Ausführungen dann mit folgenden Worten beenden würde: Liebe Freundinnen, ihr seid euch all unserer Bestrebungen und Forderungen bewußt, und aus diesem Grund fordere ich euch nachdrücklich dazu auf, die Aktivitäten der "Ligue des droits de l ́homme' zu unterstützen."

In the course of our conversation, I smilingly asked them: 'How do you think the female population in the French-speaking rural areas of Africa would react if women were encouraged to assert their rights or aspirations: a school education for young girls, access to secondary and higher education for women, the opportunity to pursue the profession or career of their choice, confirmation of their position and rights within the family unit, granting of voting rights, eligibility to vote, and so on?' I finished this long-winded speech by saying to the crowd: 'My dear friends, you are aware of all our aspirations and demands, and for this reason I strongly urge you to support the activities of the League of Human Rights', or of the rights of man, as it is called in French.
