We believe that reducing the costs of the 2020 Census can be achieved by tailoring methods to the many and diverse subgroups of the population (such as through the use of the Internet to gather information from the technologically literate), reusing administrative data where possible (such as for non-response), designing software to reduce staff time, and by continuously updating the address frame (and maps) over the decade.

Nous estimons qu’il est possible de réduire les coûts du recensement de 2020 en concevant des méthodes adaptées aux sous-groupes nombreux et divers de la population (notamment par l’utilisation d’Internet pour recueillir des informations auprès de ceux qui maîtrisent l’informatique), en réutilisant les données administratives lorsque cela est possible (notamment en cas de non-réponse), en mettant au point des logiciels qui permettent de réduire le temps de travail du personnel et en mettant continuellement à jour la base d’adresses (et les cartes) tout au long de la décennie.

Мы считаем, что сокращения затрат на проведение переписи 2020 года можно добиться путем адаптации методов работы с многочисленными и разнообразными подгруппами населения (например, посредством использования Интернета для получения информации от технологически грамотных лиц), повторного использования административных данных, когда это возможно (например, в случае отсутствия ответов респондентов), разработки программного обеспечения для сокращения затрат времени сотрудников, а также постоянного обновления адресной базы (и карт) на протяжении десятилетия.
