A method of biosynthesis of polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHA) is provided that includes providing a type II methanotrophic bacteria, and disposing the type II methanotrophic bacteria in an unbalanced growth condition, where the unbalanced growth condition includes a nutrient-deficient media and a hydroxyalkanoic acid, and where the nutrient-deficient media has an absence of an essential nutrient required for cell replication of the type II methanotrophic bacteria.

L'invention concerne un procédé de biosynthèse de polyhydroxyalcanoates (PHA) qui comprend l'obtention de bactéries méthanotrophes type II, et le placement des bactéries méthanotrophes type II dans des conditions de croissance déséquilibrées, les conditions de croissance déséquilibrées comprenant un milieu déficient en nutriments et un acide hydroxyalcanoïque, le milieu déficient en nutriments ne contenant pas un nutriment essentiel requis pour la réplication des cellules des bactéries méthanotrophes type II.
