When we think about what is behind Plan Colombia, I believe the analysts who say that behind this is a fight to take control of biodiversity - specifically in the Amazon region - to take control of our rivers to create a grand South American hydro-highway, to take control of the regions with the highest wealth in natural resources and minerals, such as petroleum, that are in the Colombian Amazon and Orinoco regions, but that, today, they can't exploit, but which are very much coveted by multinational capital.

En eso tienen razón los que trabajan con el Instituto Transnacional de Holanda, quienes señalan que el problema es la remilitarización de estas democracias, y esto se expresa muy bien en Colombia con toda esta política de la "seguridad democrática". Es una excusa para eso, para tener unos regímenes que les permitan, a los que están detrás de la implementación del modelo neoliberal, implementar lo que falta para que pueda imponerse sin problemas.
