وترحب اللجنة بتعديل القواعد المالية بحيث تسمح باستخدام التبادل الإلكتروني للبيانات كوسيلة لتوسيع نطاق عملية الشراء، على أن يكون مفهوما أن هذه الطريقة ستكمِل تقديم العطاءات والعروض في شكل مطبوع ولكنها لن تحل محلها.

The Advisory Committee welcomed the amendment of the Financial Rules to allow the use of electronic data interchange as a means of expanding the reach of the procurement process, on the understanding that the method would supplement, and not replace, the submission of bids and proposals in hard copy.

La Comisión Consultiva acoge con satisfacción la enmienda al Reglamento Financiero dirigida a facilitar el uso del intercambio electrónico de datos como medio de ampliar el alcance del proceso de adquisición, en el entendimiento de que ese método complementaría, pero no reemplazaría, la presentación de ofertas para licitaciones y de propuestas en forma impresa.
