The University of Helsinki (UH), the Finnish Fur Breeders ́ Association (FFBA), and the Finnish Food Safety Authority Evira initiated a collaborative project in 2009 to describe the pathology of the disease, identify the causative organism(s), describe the occurrence of the disease in Finland and to find out possible sources and risk factors for the disease.
