WASHINGTON – El Departamento de Energía estadounidense anunció el martes que llegó a un acuerdo con España para instalar detectores de material radioactivo en uno de sus puertos más transitados, sin identificar cual de ellos. El acuerdo es parte de la Initiativa Megapuertos de la Administración Nacional de Seguridad Nuclear del Departamento de Energía, Penvela, director del departamento de aduanas de España, es el quinto acuerdo entre los Estados Unidos y otros países, incluyendo a los Países Bajos (Rotterdam), Grecia (Piraeus), Sri Lanka y Belga.
