본 발명에 의한 3차원 동작 인식장치는 스테레오 카메라를 이용하여 추적하고자 하는 인체의 특정 부분인 포인터의 실제 위치와 이동방향, 이동거리 및 속도를 계산하는 방법으로 포인터의 움직임에 대한 정보를 계산할 수 있다. 본 발명에 의해 추출되고 계산된 정보는 사람이 3차원 공간상에서 움직이는 몸짓을 패턴화하고 정보화할 수 있게 한다.
