Included in this Act is the protection of children from degrading and inhuman treatment, in section 13 (1) which reads: “No person shall subject a child to torture or other cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment including any cultural practice which dehumanises or is injurious to the physical and mental well-being of a child.”

En el artículo 13 1) se protege al niño de los tratos degradantes e inhumanos cuando dice: "Nadie someterá a un niño a tortura u otros tratos o penas crueles, inhumanos o degradantes, como las prácticas culturales que deshumanicen o sean perjudiciales para su bienestar físico y mental".

Elle protège notamment les enfants contre des traitements dégradants et inhumains. Son article 13 1) est ainsi libellé: «Nul ne peut soumettre un enfant à la torture ou à d’autres peines ou traitements inhumains ou dégradants, ni à des pratiques culturelles qui déshumanisent l’enfant ou portent atteinte à son bien‐être physique et mental.».
