The “Women in the Military & Security Conference 2016” (WIMCON), co-hosted by the Trinidad & Tobago Defence Force (TTDF) and U.S. Southern Command (SOUTHCOM), brought together keen insight from members of the regional military, security, and police forces on the evolutionary inclusion of women into their respective countries’ military forces from the time each country started allowing women into the military to the present.

La "Conferencia sobre mujeres en las fuerzas militares y de seguridad 2016" (WIMCON, por sus siglas en inglés), organizada conjuntamente por la Fuerza de Defensa de Trinidad y Tobago (TTDF, por sus siglas en inglés) y el Comando Sur de los EE. UU. (SOUTHCOM, por sus siglas en inglés), agrupó conocimiento profundo y entusiasta por parte de representantes de las fuerzas militares, de seguridad y policiales de la región sobre los avances logrados en la inclusión de la mujer en las fuerzas de sus respectivos países desde el momento en que se autorizó su ingreso al servicio militar hasta el presente.
