The method includes the steps of taking a before-image of the primary database in main memory before an update to the primary database; taking an after-image of the primary database after the update; generating a differential log by applying bitwise exclusive-OR (XOR) between the before-image and the after-image; and performing either a redo or undo operation by applying XOR between said one or more logs and the before-image.

Le procédé consiste à prendre une image avant de la base de données primaire dans la mémoire principale avant une mise à jour de la base de données primaire; à prendre une image après de la base de données primaire après la mise à jour; à générer un registre différentiel en appliquant au niveau du bit OU exclusif (XOR) entre l'image avant et l'image après; et à effectuer une opération d'annulation d'annulation ou d'annulation de commande en appliquant XOR entre lesdits un ou plusieurs registres et l'image avant.
