Μεταπτώσεις μικρότερης κλίμακας συνεχίζονται στη ζωή του μοναστηριού, ενώ στις αρχές του 19ου αιώνα ο Θεοδώρητος ο Λαυριώτης θέτει τα θεμέλια της σωστής κοινοβιακής λειτουργίας της μονής, και παράλληλα θέτει τα θεμέλια του καινούργιου Καθολικού (1808) και ανυψώνει νέα κτίρια.
