Das Antibiotikum wurde in einer Dosierung von 3 × 2 g in jeweils 100 bzw. 250 ml Glukose-, Laevuloseoder Kochsalzlösung als Kurzinfusion von fünf oder 20 Minuten Dauer über vier bis 12 Tage bzw. zwei Tage bei der Kurzzeitprophylaxe verabreicht.
