The main disadvantage of both SACLOS guidance systems in an anti-tank role is that working on angular differences evaluation, it does not allow any notable separation between guidance system and missile launch post the opposite of MCLOS ones, thus allowing updated version of such anti-tank weapons (notably AT-3 Malyutka) to still remain in service in some countries.

La mayor desventaja de los sistemas SACLOS en su rol anti-blindaje es que, al trabajar sobre la base de diferencias angulares, no se le permite tener una mayor separación entre el sistema de guía y la lanzadera del misil, en contraposición a lo visto en los sistemas MCLOS anteriores, cuyas versiones actualizadas (notablemente el AT-3 Sagger/Malyutka) de dichas armas anti-blindaje le permiten el permanecer aún en servicio en diferentes países.
