Im März 1959 missbrauchte Pommerenke in einer Holzhütte am Rande von Hornberg die 18-jährige Karin Wälde, erschlug die junge Frau mit einem Stein und warf ihre Leiche über die Flussböschung am nahegelegenen Bahndamm; ihre Leiche wurde am 25. März 1959 am Ufer der Gutach entdeckt.
