Die Erfindung bezieht sich auf ein Verfahren zum Ermitteln der Drehachse eines Fahrzeugrades (2), bei dem während der Drehung des Rades (2) ein Lichtmuster (15) zumindest auf das Rad (2) projiziert und das von dem Rad (2) reflektierte Lichtmuster (15', 15'') von einer kalibrierten bildgebenden Sensorik aufgenommen und in einer Auswerteeinrichtung ausgewertet wird.
