وقال إن دور المنظمة هو أهم من ذي قبــل بالنظر إلى تعدد نواحي اللاتيقن والمخاوف التي تكتنف العولمة وقلق العديد من البلدان النامية لكونها لا تتمكن من أن تستغل الفرص التي تتيحها العولمة استغلالا ناجحا أو أن تتصدى على النحو الفعال لتهديداتها.

The role of the organization was more relevant than ever before given the many uncertainties and apprehensions surrounding globalization and the concern of many developing countries that they might not be able to successfully take advantage of the opportunities that globalization afforded or effectively deal with its threats.
