وفي 3 أيار/مايو 2001، دُعي ممثلو المركز والأمانة التقنية المؤقتة لحضور جلسة عقدتها لجنة العلاقات الخارجية في أوروغواي في مقر مجلس شيوخ أوروغواي، بهدف تسليط الضوء على أهمية تصديق حكومة أوروغواي على المعاهدة.

On 3 May 2001, representatives of the Centre and the Provisional Technical Secretariat were invited to attend a hearing of the Uruguayan Committee on Foreign Relations at the headquarters of the Senate of Uruguay, with the objective of highlighting the importance of ratification of the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty by the Government of Uruguay.

El 3 de mayo de 2001, la Comisión de Relaciones Exteriores del Senado del Uruguay invitó a representantes del Centro y de la Secretaría Técnica Provisional a que asistieran a una sesión de la Comisión en la sede del Senado uruguayo, con objeto de recalcar la necesidad de que el Gobierno del Uruguay ratificara el Tratado de Prohibición completa de los Ensayos Nucleares.
