وأحاطت اللجنة الفرعية علما بالمعلومات التي قدَّمتها الولايات المتحدة بشأن الإجراءات التي اتخذتها حكومتها لتعزيز استخدام المدار الثابت بالنسبة للأرض وغيره من المدارات ذات المواقع الفريدة، مثل التوفير المجاني للإشارة الصادرة من النظام العالمي لتحديد المواقع، والمعلومات الواردة من السواتل القطبية الخاصة بالأرصاد الجوية والتابعة للإدارة الوطنية لدراسة المحيطات والغلاف الجوي بالولايات المتحدة، وبيانات السواتل البيئية العاملة في المدار الثابت بالنسبة للأرض.

The Subcommittee noted the information provided by the United States on the actions of that Government to further the use of the geostationary orbit and other uniquely situated orbits, such as the free provision of the signal from the Global Positioning System, information from the polar meteorological satellites of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration of the United States and data from the geostationary operational environmental satellites.

La Subcomisión hizo notar la información presentada por los Estados Unidos sobre las iniciativas que había emprendido el Gobierno de ese país para promover el uso de la órbita geoestacionaria y otras órbitas de ubicación especial, como el suministro gratuito de la señal del sistema mundial de determinación de la posición, información de los satélites meteorológicos polares del Organismo Nacional para el Estudio de los Océanos y la Atmósfera estadounidense y datos de los satélites geoestacionarios operacionales del medio ambiente.

Le Sous-Comité a pris note des informations fournies par les États-Unis d’Amérique concernant les mesures que ces derniers avaient prises pour promouvoir l’utilisation de l’orbite géostationnaire et d’autres orbites occupant une position très particulière, notamment la mise à disposition, à titre gracieux, du signal du Système mondial de localisation, des informations communiquées par les satellites météorologiques polaires de la National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration des États-Unis et des données issues des satellites géostationnaires opérationnels d’étude de l’environnement.
