The Mission’s headquarters is in Sukhumi, around 420 kilometres from the capital; the headquarters includes a second office for the Special Representative of the Secretary-General, as well as the permanent Offices of the Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General, the Chief Military Observer, the Senior Police Adviser, the Chief of Human Rights and the Chief of the Mission Support Division.
