Among the various options reviewed for development of the Project, a low head, modified run-of-river station with a three-unit fixed-blade vertical shaft propeller turbine design was selected by the Proponent based on a balance between the economics of capacity and the energy production requirements, environmental concerns, and the cost of the Project.
