وقد أرسلت منظمة الصحة العالمية مليون جرعة لقاح فموي ضد الكوليرا إلى هايتي بناء على طلب الحكومة الهايتية وتوصية الفريق العامل الدولي المعني بلقاحات الكوليرا الفموية التابع لفرقة العمل العالمية المعنية بمكافحة الكوليرا، مع الحرص على إعطاء الأولوية العليا للمتضررين من الإعصار ماثيو كردّ فعل للطفرة التي طرأت على معدلات الإصابة بالكوليرا نتيجةً للإعصار.

WHO sent 1 million oral cholera vaccine doses to Haiti at the request of the Government of Haiti and on the recommendation of the international working group on oral cholera vaccination of the Global Task Force on Cholera Control, with the top priority going to those affected by Hurricane Matthew, in response to a spike in cholera as a result of the hurricane.
