Also using Google Earth technology, the Lebanon Humanitarian Information Centre, assisted by the ReliefWeb map centre of the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, was able to verify the existence and the size of settlements in southern Lebanon by comparing location data from Lebanese officials with more recent satellite imagery and able to detect unpaved roads.
