وهذا يمكن أن يكون مضللاً، لأن ثلثي حالات الاعدام التي شهدتها الولايات المتحدة بين عامي 1994 و1999 (وبالتحديد 65 في المائة منها) حدثت في الولايات الخمس المبينة في الجدول 2، بينما كان الثلـث من نصيـب باقي الولايات ال 33 المبقية على عقوبة الاعدام.

This could be misleading, as two thirds (65 per cent) of the executions in the United States between 1994 and 1999 took place in the 5 states shown in table 2 and only one third in the remaining 33 states with the death penalty.
