The team is responsible for: (a) the identification of the civilian, police and military leadership structures of the parties involved in the conflicts in the former Yugoslavia, including individuals holding positions of control and authority, their de jure and de facto roles and the relationships between them and between the civilian, police and military structures; (b) the development of factual arguments for trial teams regarding the existence or non-existence of an international armed conflict in areas of the former Yugoslavia; and (c) the collection and analysis of demographic information, the primary objective of which is to obtain reliable estimates of the population changes in Bosnia and Herzegovina during the armed conflicts taking place from # to # in particular the number of deaths, displacements and refugees
