As the only town in the Harz mountains, Hohegeiß is located right on the peak of a mountain in an altitude of 600 metres (about 1800 ft.) above sea level. The campsite “Am Bärenbache” is located both away from the traffic in a calm valley and in a distance of a few-minutes-walk from town centre at the same time.
