His investigation, along with Mariano Artigas, into Roman archives led to the publication of an unpublished manuscript related to the Galileo case, the “Acta Philosophica”, in 2001, as well as the first documentary study concerning the reception of evolutionary theory by the Vatican “Negotiating Darwin: The Vatican Confronts Evolution 1877-1902.” This book has since been translated into Spanish under the Evolution: Facts and Theories”.

Su investigación con Mariano Artigas en los Archivos romanos ha llevado a la publicación de un manuscrito inédito relacionado con el caso Galileo (Acta Philosophica, 2001) y del primer estudio documental sobre la recepción de la evolución en el Vaticano Negotiating Darwin: The Vatican Confronts Evolution 1877-1902, este mismo libro ha sido traducido al español bajo el título Seis católicos evolucionistas: El Vaticano frente a la evolución 1877-1902.
