A completely randomized blocks, with 12 treatments and four repetitions, was used. It included a group of treatments free of weeds for 10, 20, 30, 40 and 50 days, at the end each the weeds growth was allowed, so that the crop was first free and then in competition (FC). The second group of treatments allowed the initial competition between weeds and the crop, for the same period of first group at the end of each time period the weeds were removed.

Aplicando el Diseño en Bloques Completos al Azar, con 12 tratamientos y cuatro repeticiones, se ejecutó un ensayo tipo aditivo, el cual incluía un grupo de tratamientos que lo mantenía libre de malezas por un periodo específico de tiempo (10, 20, 30, 40 ó 50 días), al término del cual se permitía el crecimiento de las mismas en el cultivo, de modo que el área de siembra estuviese primero libre y luego en competencia (LC) y en el segundo grupo de tratamientos se permitía primero el desarrollo del proceso de competencia entre la maleza y el cultivo, por un intervalo de tiempo igual al del grupo anterior y luego se retiraban las malezas para que el cultivo estuviese libre de competencia (CL).
