For the past 150 years, on both sides of his family, including both genders, and in virtually every conflict from the US Civil War, through to the current conflict in Iraq, including the Boxer Rebellion, the World Wars, Vietnam and the Falklands, members of Capt Dykes’ family have served in the military services of four nations including Great Britain, the US, the Indian Army and Canada.

Durant les 150 dernières années, les membres des deux côtés de sa famille, hommes et femmes, ont servi dans pratiquement tous les conflits, de la guerre de Sécession jusqu’à la plus récente guerre en Iraq, en passant par le mouvement des Boxeurs, les deux guerres mondiales, la guerre du Vietnam et la guerre des Malouines. La famille du Capt Dykes a servi quatre pays, soit la Grande-Bretagne, les États-Unis, l’Armée indienne et le Canada.
